Central Health London is delighted to welcome Miss Julie Bowring, Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health, to our women's health clinical team at 23 Devonshire Place. Miss Bowring brings a combination of consultant-level expertise and a warm, patient-centred approach .
A specialist background
Miss Bowring graduated in Medicine from the University of Manchester in 2002, trained in general gynaecology across North West London, and completed advanced specialist training in Sexual and Reproductive Health at The Royal Free Hospital. She's a BSCCP-accredited colposcopist and currently NHS Consultant at Homerton University Hospital, where she also leads the Gynaecology service for HANS, a national referral centre for HPV-related disease.
Miss Bowring's expertise
Miss Bowring's practice covers the full range of sexual and reproductive health, including:
Cervical screening & colposcopy; assessment and treatment of abnormal results, HPV-related disease, cervical biopsy, LLETZ and cryotherapy
Contraception: personalised advice, IUD/IUS insertion and removal
Sexual health: STI screening and treatment, genital warts, vaginal infections
Menopause & perimenopause: irregular or heavy bleeding, vaginal atrophy, painful intercourse, recurrent cystitis
Benign cervical & vulval disorders: irritation, pain, skin changes, and other concerns that are often hard to talk about
Many of these overlap. A smear result can raise questions about HPV, treatment or follow-up; a contraception visit might also touch on bleeding, menopause symptoms or sexual wellbeing. Having one specialist who can join the dots means fewer gaps and clearer next steps.
