Title
Miranda Boal

Miranda qualified as a Psychologist in 2003 and spent 20 years working in the NHS specialising in Adult Eating Disorders, including both outpatient and inpatient care. She ended her NHS career having proudly set up an innovative early intervention project in East London. Alongside her NHS work, Miranda has been working in private practice in 2013 with more generalised mental health including, but not exclusively, anxiety and depression as well as life's challenges such as relationships, women's health and grief.
Miranda also has a particular interest in working with those affected by eating disorders indirectly (i.e. parents, siblings, carers). Her approach utilises a variety of therapeutic models namely Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CFT), Compassionate Focused Therapy (CFT) and Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT). She is a strong believer of fitting the model to the client rather than the client to the model, working holistically and integratively and building a strong working alliance and therapy relationship.
Miranda is currently in the process of writing a book about the use of metaphors in therapeutic practice. Out of work, she loves spending time with her family and two children, and walking her black Labrador.
