Title
Dr Tara Tofiq

Dr Tara Tofiq is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with a whole-person, performance enhancing approach to mental health, integrating medical precision with psychological insight. She works with executives, founders, high-performing professionals, and adults navigating complex life transitions, supporting clarity, resilience and sustained wellbeing in demanding environments.
Originally training in surgery before specialising in psychiatry, Dr Tofiq brings a rare physician-led, gender-informed perspective to mental health. She completed her psychiatric training on the Maudsley Programme and psychotherapy training at the Tavistock Clinic. She has held senior clinical roles at leading UK institutions including The Royal Marsden Hospital, Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge University), and the Schoen Clinic, and has led service redesign in eating disorders, liaison psychiatry, addictions, and integrated pathways across acute, community, and tertiary care.
Her clinical practice covers high-functioning depression and anxiety, adjustment and stress-related disorders, OCD, adult ADHD, addictions, sub-threshold eating disorders, trauma, and the psychological impact of cancer and survivorship. She is also experienced in complex cases involving workplace stress, occupational performance, employment tribunals, and situations requiring careful, reputationally sensitive formulation.
Dr Tofiq has a longstanding interest in mind–body medicine, psychopharmacology, and emerging therapeutics. She has worked in clinical research at Imperial, contributed to psychedelic-therapy research at Eleusis, and has held honorary academic roles at UCL and the Institute of Psychiatry. She teaches widely on stress, mood disorders, behavioural health, and addictions medicine, and previously served as Honorary Psychiatrist to the Royal College of Art.
Known for her calm, grounded manner and her ability to integrate medical, psychological, and environmental factors into a clear and actionable plan, Dr Tofiq provides a confidential, personalised service for adults seeking high-quality, holistic psychiatric care, with an emphasis on sustainable performance, psychological resilience, and long-term wellbeing.
Outside her clinical work, she is active in the arts and enjoys ballet, opera, classical music, Pilates, martial arts and tennis — reflecting her belief in movement, discipline, and creativity as foundations of a healthy mind.
