Dr Monica Gupta is an experienced and highly respected Consultant Paediatrician with 29 years experience in the NHS. She has over a decade of consultant-level practice across leading London hospitals, including Great Ormond Street Hospital, King’s College Hospital,and Chelsea and Westminster NHS Trust as well as in busy District General Hospitals in Kent and Surrey.


Dr Gupta offers comprehensive, child-centred care across all aspects of general paediatrics. She has particular expertise in holistic and nutritional health, nephrology and child and adolescent mental health. Her expertise spans many childhood issues which includes: reflux and colic, cows milk protein and other food intolerances, kidney problems, bed wetting and recurrent urine infections, eczema and urticaria, constipation and abdominal pain, headaches, childhood obesity, skin rashes and iron deficiency. She is passionate about early intervention, preventative care, empowering families to make positive, lasting lifestyle choices, and championing a holistic approach to children’s health and wellbeing.


In her NHS work, Dr Gupta has been instrumental in launching innovative paediatric services, such as paediatric short stay and assessment units and rapid access clinics, helping transform patient experiences across North and South London. She is a recognised leader in delivering multidisciplinary staff training in improving communication with young people with mental health distress and their in-patient journey, working within NHS networks to enhance local and regional care systems.


Alongside her clinical work, Dr Gupta holds leadership roles in education, clinical governance, and patient safety. She is a Mental Health Lead, Cultural Safety Champion and Educational Supervisor for resident doctors in the NHS. Her dedication to service improvement and research is reflected in her contributions to multiple quality improvement projects, with her work presented at national conferences, including the Royal College of Paediatrics and the London School of Paediatrics. She is a member of the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine and serves on the food and health council at the Royal Society of Medicine.


Known for her compassionate, thoughtful approach, Dr Gupta is deeply committed to working collaboratively with children, parents, and carers to achieve the best possible outcomes. Her ethos is to not only treat illness but to equip families with the tools to nurture lifelong health, wellbeing and resilience. She is fluent in Hindi and brings a culturally sensitive approach to all aspects of her practice.
