Title
Dr Michele McKenner

Dr. Michele McKenner is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting adults, children and families across a range of settings in both the NHS and private practice. She has particular expertise in supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions, such as Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), drawing on her doctoral research in this area from University College London (UCL).
Michele's therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing on models such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person Centred Counselling, Systemic Family Therapy and Personalised Individual Parenting Training (PIPT). She works with a broad range of difficulties in adults and young people, including low mood, anxiety, OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), problems at work, relationship issues and generally feeling ‘stuck’. She also has extensive experience of supporting families with children who are struggling, including presentations such as mental health issues, difficulties at school and behaviour that challenges.
Michele initially began her career in law, working as a solicitor in both the City and the entertainment industry before transitioning to psychology. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from UCL and a Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of Sussex.
Michele aims to provide a warm, non-judgemental environment in which to explore and change patterns of thinking, behaving and relating which might be holding the individual, or the family system, back.
