Dr Livia Martucci

Dr Livia Martucci is an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in perinatal mental health. With over two decades of clinical expertise, she brings a thoughtful, highly personalised approach to supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the early years of motherhood.

Born and educated in Italy, Dr Martucci graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan before completing her PhD at the University of Toronto, where her research focused on the genetics of mood and psychotic disorders. She continued her clinical training in London’s most prestigious psychiatric rotations, including the Maudsley (SLaM) and Royal Free programmes, achieving her Certificate of Completion of Training in Psychiatry in 2012.

Dr Martucci has led major clinical services in the NHS, including as Clinical Lead for South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust’s Community Perinatal Services and Consultant Psychiatrist at St Thomas’ Hospital, working closely with maternity services and community teams. She also holds a role as Chair of the Perinatal Faculty at the Royal College of Psychiatrists, shaping perinatal mental health strategy at a national level.

Her clinical interests include the diagnosis and management of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, complex cases involving safeguarding and social care, and psychopharmacology in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Known for her calm, compassionate manner and rigorous, evidence-based approach, Dr Martucci is deeply committed to providing holistic, patient-centred care, supporting women and families through some of the most critical transitions in life.

Fluent in Italian, English and French, she offers care that is both culturally sensitive and internationally informed. Dr Martucci provides consultations at Central Health London, where patients value her expertise, warmth and commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for mothers and their families.
