Dr Julie Bowring

Dr Julie Bowring is a Consultant in Sexual and Reproductive Health at Central Health London. She provides expert, compassionate care across the full spectrum of sexual and reproductive health, with particular expertise in cervical screening, colposcopy, HPV-related disease, contraception and menopause care. Alongside her private practice, she is an NHS Consultant at Homerton University Hospital, where she delivers specialist sexual and reproductive healthcare and gynaecology services.

Dr Bowring graduated in Medicine from the University of Manchester in 2002. She completed her general gynaecology training in North West London before undertaking advanced specialist training in Sexual and Reproductive Health at The Royal Free Hospital, London. She is a BSCCP-accredited colposcopist and Gynaecology Lead for the Homerton Anogenital Neoplasia Service (HANS), a national referral centre specialising in the diagnosis and management of HPV-related disease affecting the cervix, vagina, vulva and anal canal.

Her clinical expertise includes the assessment and treatment of abnormal cervical screening results, HPV-related conditions and benign cervical and vulval disorders. She also offers comprehensive sexual health screening, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, and personalised contraceptive care, including intrauterine device (IUD) and intrauterine system (IUS) insertion and removal.

In addition, Dr Bowring provides care for a wide range of women's health concerns, including heavy and irregular periods, menopause and perimenopause, vaginal atrophy, painful intercourse (dyspareunia), recurrent cystitis, vaginal infections and genital warts. She performs cervical biopsies, LLETZ procedures, cryotherapy and smear tests, ensuring patients receive evidence-based care in a supportive and reassuring environment.
