a range of mental health conditions, life and relationship issues such as anxiety,

within the multidisciplinary sexual health team focussing on the mental, emotional
and relational dimensions of specific sexual issues.
Debbie’s training in Psychology started in 1984 with her undergraduate degree from
Leicester university. A post grad overseas trip involved a detour into exercise
science where she worked and lectured for many years until returning to her
psychology roots. She gained a master’s degree in Counselling from the University
of South Australia and entered into the talking therapies in Central Health Hong
Kong. During her 10 years there, she developed a particular interest in working with
sexual difficulties and trained with the International Institute of Clinical Sexology in
the USA as a sex therapist before finally returning to the UK to complete her
doctorate in Counselling Psychology at the University of the West of England. Her
doctoral thesis was on female sexual pain disorders.
Debbie continues to work in private practice and focuses entirely on clinical work.
