Dr Anna Moore

Dr. Anna Moore is a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Assistant

Professor in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge,

Department of Psychiatry, where she also practices in Medical Informatics.

Anna is an experienced psychiatrist who assesses and manages the full range of

problems facing children and young people, including ADHD, learning disabilities,

self harm, OCD, anxiety, depression, school attendance issues, behavioural issues, tics and Tourette's, functional problems (such as gastric/IBS or non-epileptic seizures), and patients with co-morbid physical health conditions. Anna takes a holistic approach to assessment and treatment, prioritising making shared decisions with young people and families, to develop a plan that touches on all the aspects of care that the family feel are important.

Anna takes on a select number of psychological therapy cases with young people and/or families, using a mentalisation-based therapy approach (MBT). She is trained by Professor Peter Fonagy.

Anna has a passion for making health services for children and young people the

best they can be, and is at the forefront of UK policy and academic for child

psychiatry and neurodiversity. She is a workstream lead for the Government’s

current Independent Review into ADHD, Autism and Mental Health, which is setting out recommendations for how best to manage these conditions in the UK over the next decade. In her academic role at the University of Cambridge she holds a prestigious UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship.

This fellowship focuses on how best to develop holistic preventative and early intervention pathways for child mental health services including the use of digital technologies and the role that genetics may play in the future. Previously she was an NHS Innovation Accelerator Fellow, creating and leading the national child and adolescent mental health service transformation programme, i-THRIVE.

Anna has a daughter with special needs, and this is a subject close to her heart.

Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, swing dancing, and gardening.
