Adult autism assessment
Combined autism & attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) assessment
Alison is committed to an assessment process that is accurate, trustworthy and feels safe. Her approach is warm, collaborative and transparent, giving you the space to share your experiences. She has particular expertise in the overlap between autism, other divergent neurotypes, and mental health conditions such as eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), bipolar affective disorder and also trauma. She is also interested in the association of autism with co-occurring physical conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS), postural tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).
Alison read medicine at the University of Cambridge and UCL, and completed her psychiatric training in Oxford before gaining membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. She has previously led an NHS autism assessment service and has worked in neurodevelopmental psychiatry private practice since 2019. Alison has also lectured on the National Autism Training Programme for Psychiatrists and mentored consultant psychiatrists developing their expertise in autism assessment.
Beyond the clinic, Alison serves on the Executive Committee of the Royal College of Psychiatrists' Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Special Interest Group, and speaks regularly on podcasts and public platforms to share accurate information and advocate for autistic adults.
