Dr. Shalini Chawla is a Consultant Obstetrician with over 15 years of experience in obstetrics, maternal medicine, and postnatal care. She is the Postnatal Lead, where she plays a vital role in supporting women through the often-overlooked postnatal period, ensuring a safe and nurturing transition into motherhood.

Dr. Chawla trained in General Surgery in India before completing her postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK. She has undertaken advanced training in maternal medicine, further deepening her expertise in managing high-risk and complex pregnancies. Her clinical practice spans all aspects of obstetrics, including both emergency and elective care in labour and delivery. She leads the antenatal clinic, where she is passionate about educating and empowering women to make informed decisions about their care. Dr. Chawla is known for her kind, compassionate approach, supporting women throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal journey.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Chawla is actively involved in medical education and leadership. She is the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) College Tutor and the Training Programme Director for Foundation doctors. She also teaches on the 'Managing Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma' (MOET) course and serves as the Divisional Rota Lead—demonstrating her commitment to both service delivery and workforce wellbeing.
